What this module does
The Warehouse module is where your business tracks physical stock across one or more storage sites. It keeps a live record of every stock item, how much you hold, exactly where it sits, and every movement in and out. From one place your team can receive incoming deliveries, move stock between sites, count and correct on-hand figures, and review a full history of what happened to each item.
Everything is organised around a clear storage hierarchy so you always know the precise home of a product. Each warehouse is broken down into Zones, then Racks, Bays, Levels, and finally individual Positions. Pallets can be created and labelled with printable QR or barcode tags for fast scanning on the floor.
Who uses it
The module is built for warehouse and distribution teams:
- Warehouse operators and receiving clerks — record incoming deliveries, put stock away into the right location, pick and pack outgoing orders.
- Inventory supervisors — run cycle counts, review variances, and keep on-hand figures accurate.
- Warehouse managers — set up storage locations, maintain the stock item catalog, monitor low-stock and expiring items, and approve stock adjustments.
Anyone using the module needs the Warehouse permission enabled on their role.
Key areas
You reach every area from the Warehousing group in the left menu:
- Warehouse Dashboard — an at-a-glance summary of total items, low-stock alerts, inventory value, pending receipts, active picks, in-transit transfers, and batches nearing expiry.
- Warehouses — build and maintain the storage hierarchy (Warehouses, Zones, Racks, Bays, Levels, Positions).
- Pallets — create pallets in bulk and export QR or barcode labels.
- Stock Items — the catalog of every product you store, including reorder points, ABC class, and batch or expiration tracking.
- Receiving Orders — log inbound deliveries and put stock away into locations.
- Picking Orders — organise outbound orders for picking, packing, and shipping.
- Stock Transfers — move stock from one warehouse to another.
- Cycle Counts — schedule counts, capture counted quantities, and approve corrections.
- Stock Movements — a read-only audit trail of every receipt, issue, transfer, adjustment, reservation, and return.
Related modules
The Warehouse module works closely with other parts of ERPat. The product catalog (items, brands, units, and categories) is maintained in the Inventory module, and warehouse stock records are shared with Purchasing and Manufacturing so purchase orders and production runs can draw from and add to the same on-hand figures.
