Troubleshooting
Enable the Company Tag module in Settings → Manage Modules and make sure you hold
staff_view_company_tag. Admins bypass all checks. Each left-menu item needs its permission: Allocate IDs →
idstudio_allocate, ID Templates → company_tag_template, Generate IDs → idstudio_tags_generate, ID Studio Settings → idstudio_settings.A format needs exactly one sequence token (
{SEQ} or {SEQ:4}…{SEQ:10}), only known tokens, and the generated ID must fit the Job ID column. The settings screen shows the exact error and a live example.Existing Job IDs are never overwritten. Allocation only fills employees who have none. If a new format would collide with existing IDs, raise the sequence start.
The front side must contain both the Full Name and Employee ID fields, and not be empty. Add them, then publish.
The employee has no photo, or no company logo is set in the site settings. The renderer falls back to initials / the company name text when an image is missing.
A known current limitation: the server renderer does not yet rasterise element rotation or image corner-radius, and text is single-line. Keep printed layouts un-rotated for now.
The serial isn't found in that tenant's database — the card may be from another tenant, the module may be disabled, or the QR was regenerated. A revoked or superseded card verifies as Revoked / Superseded, not unknown.
Set Default validity (days) blank in Settings so new cards never expire. Existing cards keep their own validity; the daily job flips any past-validity card to expired.
Under
files/company_tags/. The daily job removes the files of long-inactive cards per the artifact-retention setting.Glossary

tag serial, and what you expected versus what happened — that's usually enough to pin it down fast.
