Parent Portal Playbook
The parent portal is your window into your child’s school record. Once the school gives you a login and confirms you as your child’s guardian, you can sign in to see your child’s released grades, their attendance summary, and their current enrollment — from any browser, anytime. This guide walks you through it in plain language.
Is this guide for you?
Yes, if you are a parent or guardian and the school has (or will) set you up with a portal account. You do not install anything — the portal is a web page. If you are a student looking at your own record, use the Student Portal Playbook instead.
How you get access
You do not sign yourself up. The school creates your account from your guardian record and links it to your child. Here is what happens, and what you do:

The school adds your details
The school records you as a guardian, with your email address, and links you to your child. Your email is what your login is built from, so make sure the school has a current one for you.

The school verifies that the child is yours
Before you can see a child, the school verifies the link between you and that child. This is a deliberate safety check — it is what unlocks that child in your portal.

You receive a login
The school provisions your portal account (it starts with a temporary password you never need to see) and can share a sign-in link with you.

You set your own password
Open the sign-in page and use Forgot password to set a password only you know. After that, you are ready to sign in.
Signing in
Go to your school’s ERPat sign-in page (the school will give you the link) and log in with
your email and the password you set. The parent portal lives at the address
school/parent. If the school sent you a direct link, it takes you straight to
the right place after you sign in.
What you’ll see
Your portal shows a section for each of your verified children. For every child you get three things:
Your child’s grades for the current school year, but only once the school has officially released them.
A summary of your child’s attendance — how often they were present, absent, late, or excused.
Your child’s active enrollment for the school year — their grade level and section.
If you have more than one child at the school, each verified child appears in their own section. The finished, aggregated grade summary — the report card — follows the same rule: it only shows released grades. You can read how report cards are built on the Report Cards page.
What you can’t see — and why
A few things are intentionally hidden. None of them are errors — they are the safeguards working as intended.
- A child whose link isn’t verified yet
- Until the school verifies that a child is linked to you, that child will not appear. This protects children from being visible to the wrong adult.
- Grades that haven’t been released
- Teachers encode grades and a school head reviews and releases them. Work in progress is never shown — you see a grade only after it is officially released.
- Other families’ information
- You can only ever see your own verified children. Your portal is built from your own account — there is no way to reach another learner’s record.
